Midcontinent Communications to Hold Dickinson Ribbon Cutting Marking Completion of Construction

Dickinson, ND: Midcontinent Communications® has announced a ribbon cutting with the Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce set for Friday, August 14 at 10 am MT. The ribbon cutting will officially complete Midcontinent’s new build in the city, as well as open the new Midcontinent technical operations center at 76 6th St. SW. Mayor Dennis Johnson will be present to share a few remarks.

Midcontinent® announced construction plans in July 2013. Dickinson’s tremendous growth during that time led to an increased project scope. Midcontinent installed 137 miles of newly placed infrastructure to bring services to homes and businesses in the community. Customers can now enjoy Midcontinent’s advanced cable TV – including TiVo® DVR, more than 100 HD channels, TV Everywhere and ON Demand programming – as well as America’s fastest Internet and crystal-clear digital phone services.

“This build was a result of many of Midcontinent’s teams coming together to bring service to our Dickinson customers as quickly and efficiently as possible,” says Justin Forde, Director of Public Affairs for Midcontinent. “We’ve had many residents and business owners tell us how excited they are to have us here. We look forward to being a dedicated partner to the community of Dickinson.”

Midcontinent invites the community to celebrate at the “Swim Under the Stars” public event, coordinated with Dickinson Parks & Rec. Children 12 and under can attend a special night swim from 8-10 pm on August 14, and kids 13 and up can enjoy a night swim from 8-10 pm on August 15. Midcontinent will provide a DJ, special lighting, a photo booth and free food.
