Midcontinent Chief Operating Officer Dick Busch Announces Retirement

Sioux Falls, SD: After a career spanning 40 years, Midcontinent’s Chief Operating Officer Dick Busch has announced his decision to retire effective January 1, 2016. Busch will continue to serve as COO until that time.

Since 2007, Busch has been the company’s COO and prior to that was Chief Technology Officer. In his current role, he has chief management responsibility for Operations, including customer service, field operations, materials management, training, and operations systems and support. Busch began his Midcontinent career in 1976 with Midco Data, the company’s MIS support organization at that time.

“Since day one, nearly 40 years ago, Dick has applied his passion for constant improvement to the company’s cable, television, radio, telephone, theater, satellite and retail systems and processes. He has been a steady and positive influence as Midcontinent has undergone remarkable growth and tremendous change,” says Pat McAdaragh, President and CEO of Midcontinent. “In the modern era, it is rare for an individual to have such a varied, fruitful and long-lasting career with the same company. Dick’s commitment, contributions and longevity have helped Midcontinent be the multi-generational success it is today.”

Following is a quote from Busch that sums up his thoughts on his upcoming retirement and the Midcontinent team: “I am grateful for having been able to work with and for some of the best talent in our industry. I look forward to the next chapter of my life and spending more time with my family. I will truly miss those of you who made my Midcontinent journey incredibly rewarding.”

Busch is a native of Rugby, ND. He holds degrees from the North Dakota State College of Science and the University of Sioux Falls.
