Yes, Midco SmartHOME door locks can be fitted to an existing deadbolt hole. The deadbolt hole must be predrilled prior to installation.

No, the Kwikset Smartkey technology allows a user to easily re-key the lock to match other door locks in the home – or if you lose your keys – so you don’t have to get rid of your manual keys if you don’t want.

When the programmable door lock’s batteries are low and need to be replaced, the deadbolt’s LED will flash red and a message will display on your in-home touchscreen reading: “Having difficulty communicating with door lock.”
