How to Use HD Digital Adapter Parental Controls

Reminder: Parental controls are not set by default, and you should apply them where you would like controls. This means all content is available for viewing until changes are made.

  1. Turn on your HD digital adapter. Using your remote, press Menu.
  2. Select Parental Control and then OK.
  3. Use the number buttons on your remote to enter your four-digit PIN, and enter the PIN again to confirm.

If you’d like to block entire channels, you can do so. Regardless of what ratings the shows have, all content on locked channels is unavailable unless you enter the four-digit PIN.

  1. Turn on your HD digital adapter. Using your remote, press Menu.
  2. Select Parental Control and then OK.
  3. Enter your parental control PIN. (If you have not set one up yet, you’ll be prompted to do so.)
  4. Select Channels and then OK.
  5. Select any channel you wish to lock or unlock, and press OK

Use this feature if you want to clear all locks.

  1. Turn on your HD digital adapter. Using your remote, press Menu.
  2. Select Parental Control and then OK.
  3. Enter your parental control PIN. (If you have not set one up yet, you’ll be prompted to do so.)
  4. Select Channels and then OK.
  5. Press the 0 button on your remote.

You can block movies and TV shows based on their rating type.

  1. Turn on your HD digital adapter. Using your remote, press Menu.
  2. Select Parental Control and then OK.
  3. Enter your parental control PIN. (If you have not set one up yet, you’ll be prompted to do so.)
  4. Select Channels and then OK.
  5. Select Movie Ratings or TV Ratings, and then press OK.
  6. Highlight a rating, and press OK button to lock/unlock.
    • All ratings more restrictive than selected rating will be locked.
    • All ratings less restrictive than selected rating will be unlocked.

Use this feature if you’d like to hide the title of a program so it does not appear in the on-screen programming guide.

  1. Turn on your HD digital adapter. Using your remote, press Menu.
  2. Select Parental Control and then OK.
  3. Enter your parental control PIN. (If you have not set one up yet, you’ll be prompted to do so.)
  4. Select Channels and then OK.
  5. Select Hide Titles, and then press OK.
