What server settings do I use for my email program?

The following settings will be needed to configure your email program to access your Midco® email. Use ‘Standard’ settings for a computer that does not leave your home. Use ‘Secure’ settings for computers or mobile devices that are used at home and away from home.

Standard

  • Incoming: pop.midco.net, server port number = 110
  • Outgoing: smtp.midco.net, server port number = 25
  • Username: full email address (Examples of full email addresses include: email@midco.net, email@sunflower.com and email@rap.midco.net.)
  • Password: password for email address

Secure (use for mobile devices)

  • Incoming: popa.midco.net
    • If POP server, server port number = 995
    • If IMAP server, server port number = 993
  • Outgoing: smtpa.midco.net
    • Port 25, Port 587 or Port 465
      • Port will depend on device and may not be compatible with all software/providers
    • Requires a secure connection (SSL) or TLS must be checked (depending on the device)
    • Outgoing server settings will require full username (email address) and password
    • Must select ‘Outgoing Server Requires Authentication’
    • Do not select ‘Secure Password Authentication (SPA)’
  • Username: full email address (Examples of full email addresses include: email@midco.net, email@sunflower.com and email@rap.midco.net.)
  • Password: password for email address
