Assistance Options

Hearing & Speech Assistance

We provide hearing and speech support assistance to disabled customers throughout our region.

With Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS), commonly known as relay calling, operators help facilitate communication between the calling and receiving parties. Simply dial 7-1-1 from your Midco┬« home phone.

Lifeline Assistance

For some people, the telephone is their lifeline to the outside world. Low and fixed income telephone subscribers can apply for financial aid to help with their phone bill.

If you are interested in Lifeline benefits, contact us at 1.800.888.1300 or download and fill out our Lifeline Assistance application and attach a copy or copies of eligibility documentation. After signing the completed application, mail it with your proof of eligibility documents to Midco, PO Box 5010, Sioux Falls, SD 57117-9908.

Directory Listing Exemption

Midco provides free directory assistance calls to those with impaired vision or a qualifying disability that prevents the use of a phone book or other means of locating a telephone number. Midco telephone subscribers are eligible to receive this exemption. Fill out an application today! Once approved, dial 0 to connect with the operator. Long distances charges are not included with this exemption.
