Call Forwarding

Call forwarding allows you to forward calls temporarily to another number. Long-distance charges may apply to calls forwarded outside your local call area.

Who: MN, ND and SD phone customers use this feature, known as call forwarding universal. KS phone customers use this feature, known as call forwarding unconditional.

You can set up rules to automatically forward all incoming calls to another phone number.

  1. On your touch-tone phone, press *72.
  2. When you hear the dial tone, dial the phone number where you would like to receive forwarded calls. Wait for the person to answer.
    • Someone must answer the phone in order to activate call forwarding. If no one answers the phone, or the line is busy, hang up and repeat steps 1 and 2.
    • When call forwarding has been activated, you will hear a busy signal or beeps confirming the change.
  3. To deactivate call forwarding, press *73 on your touch-tone phone.
    • MN, ND, SD customers: The stutter tone followed by fast busy signal indicates that calls are no longer forwarding.
    • KS customers: Two short tones and a dial tone confirm calls are no longer forwarding.

Who: MN, ND and SD phone customers have access to call forwarding universal in My Account

  1. Log in to Midco.com/MyAccount.
  2. Click Home Phone, and then Manage Phone Features.
  3. Select your phone number in the dropdown. Please note that it make take up to 20 seconds to connect to your phone features.
  4. Go to the Call Forwarding Universal section to see the status of this feature on your account. Click Disable to turn it off, or Enable to turn it on. If you're enabling call forwarding universal, enter the Call Forward Number where you want to receive calls, and click Save.
    • For most local numbers, enter the seven-digit number, such as: 5551212.
    • For local numbers requiring 10-digit local dialing, enter the full 10-digit number.
    • To forward to a long-distance number, enter 1 + the area code, such as: 16055551212.

Who: KS phone customers

Use call forwarding busy line if you want to redirect incoming calls to another number while you’re on the phone.

  1. To activate, dial *90.
  2. Wait for the confirmation tone, and then dial the phone number where you want to forward the calls.
  3. Dial *91 to deactivate.

If one caller is still on the line, your phone will ring and you'll be connected when you pick up. NOTE: This feature doesn't work if you're using call waiting.

Who: KS phone customers

Use call forwarding no answer if you want to redirect incoming calls to another number if a call isn’t picked up after a specified number of rings.

  1. To activate, dial *92.
  2. Wait for the confirmation tone, and then dial the phone number where you want to forward the calls.
  3. Dial *93 to deactivate.

If one caller is still on the line, your phone will ring and you'll be connected when you pick up. NOTE: This feature doesn't work if you're using call waiting.

 

Who: KS phone customers

Known as call forwarding remote access, use feature if you want to forward your calls to another line – but you’re not home to access your home phone.

  1. Dial the access number for your home phone location:
    • Lawrence or Eudora: 785.856.6000
    • Basehor or Tonganoxie: 913.662.6000
    • Bonner Springs or Kansas City: 913.400.6000
  2. Enter your call services PIN.
    • Call forwarding and some other features may require you to use a unique call services PIN. If you have these features enabled on your account, Midco will provide you with your PIN at service setup. If you are unsure of your PIN, please contact us.
  3. Follow the steps above for How to Forward All Calls on Your Home Phone.
  4. To deactivate call forwarding remote access, dial the access number for your location.
    1. Enter your home phone number, followed by #.
    2. Enter your call services PIN, followed by #.
    3. Enter *73.
