Billing and Service Names Update

We're now completing the last step to offer our Kansas customers the same pricing and services as we do across the Midwest. Here's a summary of phone service name changes taking effect soon for current customers.

  • SmartChoice Home Phone Package becomes Digital Phone Package
  • Phone features not in the standard Digital Phone Package become ala carte features

Please refer to the first Midco statement you receive after July 19 for details specific to your account — including when they take effect.

Lifeline Assistance

For some people, a telephone is a lifeline to the outside world. Low-income phone customers can apply for help with their bill.1

Why have a home phone?

  • Emergency services has immediate access to your address, allowing for faster emergency response.

Whether you choose a home phone package or want to add services a la carte to your Basic Home Phone line, we have features that meet your calling needs, including:

Call waiting ID: Never miss an important call, and screen who's calling before you pick up the call.

Three-way calling: Talk to two people with two different numbers at the same time.

Speed call: Program up to your most frequently dialed numbers, so you can speed dial them.

Last call return: Missed a call? Press *69 to see who it was.

Distinctive ring: Set up a unique ringtone per caller for certain callers.

Continuous redial: Get through to someone while you make and receive other calls.

International calling: Make international calls around the world at competitive rates.

Voicemail is available in all locations where Midco provides home phone service. The eVOICE feature is available only in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, but not in Kansas. 1 Lifeline service is non-transferable. Only eligible customers can enroll in the program, which is limited to one discount per household. 
2 Unlimited local and domestic long-distance calling includes the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Guam. Other locations are considered international and charged at posted per-minute calling rates. Collect calls, 900-number calls, operator-assisted calls and directory assistance are not included.
