Call Forwarding

Don’t miss an important call with call forwarding. Call forwarding allows you to temporarily forward your incoming phone calls to a local, mobile, long-distance or international number.  

Monthly fees may apply depending on how you use the call forwarding features. Calls forwarded outside the local calling area will incur applicable international or long-distance charges.

Metaswitch customers:

Activating call forwarding. 

  1. Dial *72. 
  2. When you hear the dial tone, dial the number you want to receive your forwarded calls followed by #. 

Deactivating call forwarding. 

  1. Dial *73. 
  2. Two short tones and a dial tone confirms calls are no longer forwarding.  

 

Genband C20 or APMAX customers:

Activating call forwarding. 

  1. Dial *72. 
  2. When you hear the dial tone, dial the number you want to receive your forwarded calls. 
  3. Wait for the person to answer. 
  4. It is activated when you hear a fast-busy signal.  

Deactivating call forwarding. 

  1. Dial *73 
  2. A stutter tone and a fast-busy signal indicate calls are no longer forwarding.  

Genband C20 or APMAX customers:

  1. Log in to My Account.
  2. Click Home Phone and then Manage Phone Features. 
  3. Select your phone number in the dropdown.  
  4. Go to the Call Forwarding Universal section. 
  5. Click Disable or Enable. 
  • If enabling call forwarding universal, enter the number you wish to forward calls to. 
  • For most local numbers, enter the seven-digit number, such as 5551212. 
  • For local numbers requiring 10-digit local dialing, enter the full 10-digit number, such as 6055551212. 
  • For long-distance numbers, enter 1 + the area code, such as 16055551212. 

Metaswitch customers:   

Redirect calls to another number while you’re on the phone. This feature does not work if you’re using call waiting.

Activating busy call forwarding. 

  1. Dial *90. 
  2. After the tone, enter the phone number where you want to forward calls. 
  3. It is activated when you hear a confirmation tone or announcement.  

Deactivating busy call forwarding. 

  1. Dial *91. 
  2. If a caller is still on the line, your phone will ring, and you’ll be connected when you pick up. 

Metaswitch customers: 

Redirect calls to another number if a call isn’t picked up after a specified number of rings. This feature does not work if you’re using call waiting.

Activating call forwarding no answer. 

  1. Dial *92. 
  2. After the tone, enter the phone number where you want to forward calls. 
  3. It is activated when you hear a confirmation tone or announcement. 

Deactivating call forwarding no answer. 

  1. Dial *93. 
  2. If a caller is still on the line, your phone will ring, and you’ll be connected when you pick up. 

Metaswitch customers:

Known as call forwarding remote access, use this feature if you want to forward your calls to another line – but you’re not home to access your home phone.

Activating call forwarding when away.

  1. Enter the access number for your home phone location:
    • Lawrence or Eudora: 785.856.6999
    • Basehor or Tonganoxie: 913.417.6999
    • Bonner Springs or Kansas City: 913.955.6999
    • Toll Free Access (Nationwide): 833.582.1162
  2. Enter your home phone number, followed by #.
  3. Enter your call services PIN, followed by #.

Deactivating call forwarding when away.

  1. Enter the access number for your home phone location:
    • Lawrence or Eudora: 785.856.6999
    • Basehor or Tonganoxie: 913.417.6999
    • Bonner Springs or Kansas City: 913.955.6999
    • Toll Free Access (Nationwide): 833.582.1162
  2. Enter your home phone number, followed by #.
  3. Enter your call services PIN, followed by #.

  4. Dial *73.

Metaswitch customers:

Certain features may require you to create a unique PIN. You can change your PIN at any time.  

Changing your call services PIN. 

  1. Dial *319. 
  2. Enter your current PIN followed by #. 
  3. Enter your new PIN followed #. 

You will hear confirmation of the new PIN you created.
