Speed Call

Also known as speed dial, this service allows you to store frequently called numbers – and call them with quick codes instead of the entire phone number.

Who: MN, ND and SD phone customers

Speed call 30 allows you to store up to 30 frequently called numbers.

To assign speed dial numbers on your home phone:

  1. Lift your handset, and press *75.
  2. After the stutter tone, enter a two-digit speed code (choose any number, 00-29).
  3. Enter the phone number you want assigned to that speed code (for long-distance numbers, include a “1” and the area code).
  4. Press #.

A fast busy signal indicates the number has been stored.

To change a number in your speed dial list:

  1. Lift your handset, and press *75.
  2. After the stutter tone, enter the two-digit code you wish to change.
  3. Enter the new phone number (for long-distance numbers, include a “1” and the area code).
  4. Press #.

Who: KS phone customers

Speed dial allows you to store up to 38 frequently called numbers.

To assign numbers 2-9 as speed call for phone numbers:

  1. Dial *74 to activate.
  2. After the broken dial tone, enter the one-digit number (choose from 2-9), and then the phone number to assign to it. For example: enter 2, and then 555.555.5555.

You'll hear a confirmation tone, and then after a second of silence, the dial tone.

To assign numbers 20-49 as speed call for phone numbers:

  • Dial *75 to activate.
  • After the broken dial tone, enter the two-digit number (choose from 20-49), and then the phone number to assign to it. For example: enter 20, and then 555.555.5555.

You'll hear a confirmation tone, and then after a second of silence, the dial tone.

Who: KS, MN, ND and SD phone customers

  1. Lift your handset, and listen for a dial tone.
  2. Press * followed by the speed code for the party you’d like to call.
