June 21, 2023 – Hartford, SD: Midco, a leading provider of internet and TV services, is proud to announce the successful completion of its state-of-the-art fiber network in Hartford. This transformative project, with the investment of $3.1 million, aims to deliver ultra-fast, ultra-smooth speeds of up to 5 Gbps to residents and businesses, revolutionizing the digital experience in the community.

The construction of underground infrastructure, spanning an impressive 155,000 feet was finalized in November of 2022. Midco began launching neighborhoods as construction was completed, and by March 2023, 1,800 residents and businesses in Hartford had access to Midco’s exceptional services.

Midco’s fiber network expansion represents a significant milestone in the company’s ambitious Fiber Forward® initiative. This larger initiative includes a $500 million investment to enhance Midco’s fiber network and bring 10 Gig (10G) speeds to the region, ensuring improved network reliability and symmetrical broadband internet speeds.

Midco has established itself as a leader in customer satisfaction, as recognized by J.D. Power. In a 2022 study, Midco ranked highest in Customer Satisfaction for Residential Internet Service in the North Central region, which encompasses South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The study, based on responses from nearly 23,000 customers, evaluated various factors, including performance and reliability, cost of service, communication and promotions, billing and payment and customer service.
