Browser Help

Below is information and resources for configuring commonly changed items within web browser software.

While Midco® does not provide support for these items, we’ve provided quick access to the steps needed.

If you are unable to complete the steps listed or need additional support, please contact your device provider or manufacturer or the software manufacturer listed for additional support.

Setting Your Homepage

Windows 10/Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge browser
  2. Click on 'More Actions' in upper right corner - three dots
  3. Click on 'Settings'
  4. In the 'Open With' section, select 'A specific page or pages'
  5. Click on 'Custom'
  6. Clcik on 'X' to remove 'about start'
  7. Enter the website to be your homepage in the 'Enter a web address' field
  8. Click on '+' to the right to add it
  9. Close out of Microsoft Edge and open it again - your new homepage will be set and will open

Microsoft Edge

Google Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome browser
  2. Click Menu icon in upper right corner - three horizontal bars (see image)
  3. Click 'Settings'
  4. Under 'On Startup', click 'Opne a specific page or set of pages
  5. Click 'Set Pages'
  6. Enter the website to be your homepage
  7. Click 'OK'
  8. CLose out of Google Chrome and open it again - your new homepage will be set and will open

Google Chrome

Internet Explorer

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Navigate to the website you want to be your homepage
  3. Click on 'Tools' icon in upper right corner - gear/wheel
  4. Click on 'Internet Options'
  5. In the 'Home page' section on the General tab click 'Use Current'
  6. Click 'Apply' then 'OK'
  7. Close out of Internet Explorer and open it again - your new homepage will be set and will open

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox
  2. Navigate to the website you want to be your homepage
  3. Click Firefox Menu in upper right corner – three horizontal bars
  4. In the ‘Startup’ section, select ‘Use Current Pages’
  5. Close out of Firefox and open it again – your new homepage will be set and will open

 

Favorites

Microsoft Edge

Show Favorites Bar:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge
  2. Click 'More Actions' in the upper right corner - three dots
  3. Click 'Settings'
  4. Click the 'Off' button under 'Show Favorites Bar'
  5. Favorites bar will appear in Edge and will show 'On' in Settings

Add Favorites:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge
  2. Navigate to website to add to Favorites
  3. Click on the star icon in upper right
  4. Edit the name of the favorite website if you choose
  5. Select to add it to Favorites or the Favorites Bar
  6. Click 'Add'

Access Favorites:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge
  2. Click on 'Hub' icon - three horizontal lines
  3. Click on webiste in Favorites list to open it
  4. Click 'Favorites Bar' to access websites stored in the Favorites Bar

Import Favorites:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge
  2. Click ‘More Actions’ in the upper right corner – three dots
  3. Click on ‘Settings’
  4. Click on ‘Import favorites from another browser’
  5. Select the browser or browsers you had Favorites stored in
  6. Click ‘Import’
  7. Favorites will be imported and can be accessed and managed through ‘Hub’ icon – three horizontal lines
